The Mets beat the A’s,
Their first interleague series win,
And the post-game news got even better,
Widening the players and fans grin.
Capuano was solid,
But could only go 6,
He struck out 7 A’s,
As an ERA in the 4′s he dismissed.
Reyes continued to shine,
2 more hits on the day,
Adding 2 RBI’s along with them,
Helping a Mets win come their way.
Then after the game,
Sandy Alderson spoke,
Positive injury news,
And it was not a mean joke.
Wright’s back has shown progress,
Time for him to resume baseball chores,
And in about 3 or 4 weeks,
He should be walking back through Citi Field’s doors.
All the Mets need to do now,
Is try and remain afloat,
The NL Wild Card is in reach,
Hope Wright gets back quick not missing the boat.

A game delayed by rain,
Surely kept the bats lame,
Both teams pitchers were dueling,
Until the top of the 9th frame.
With the Mets up 2 to 1,
K-Rod was 1 out from being done,
Then he blew the save,
Ruining Dickey’s dominant day.
First time pitching in a week,
Since last game ended for him quite bleak,
Same result as in Atlanta,
Just against a new team in a new week.
But K-Rod’s failure shouldn’t divert from Dickey,
Whose performance was out of sight,
Pitching 8 spectacular innings versus Oakland,
Giving up just 1 run 3 hits and 9 K’s on the night.
Nothing else really happened,
Even though through the 13th they played,
Loaded the bases for Justin Turner,
Winning with a hit by pitch on the leg!

DynaMets Link’d Up Recap 6/21/11: Mets 3 – Athletics 7

Another day, another ugly loss for the New York Mets. It seems like obtaining that .500 record has been more of a curse for the team this season then anything else.
Dillon Gee is no longer undefeated. His record fell to 7-1 after an ugly 4 innings while allowing 3 hits, 4 runs and 6 walks. He raised his ERA to 3.21. The streak had to end sometime, right?
Jose Reyes also seems to be in a mini slump having only 2 hits in his last 19 at bats. We all knew he wouldn’t remain as hot as he was but let’s just hope he quickly ends this skid and gets back on track.
Speaking of back on track, hello Jason Bay. A nice 3 for 3 day including a triple and a homerun are surely good signs he is finding his way at the plate.

DynaMets Link’d Up Recap 6/19/11: Mets 3 – Angels 7

The Mets lost again to the Angels today, losing yet another series at home.
This game came down to pitching, or lack there of for the Mets. For the first time in a long time the Mets did not get a solid start as Niese struggled through 4 innings. He gave up 8 hits, 5 runs (4 earned) and hit a batter. On the bright side he struck out 3 and walked none. Carrasco and Beato did some decent mop up duty out of the pen but the same could not be said for Acosta, who apparently likes to give up runs every chance he gets.
On the other side, the Angels rookie starter Chatwood was in control of the Mets all afternoon, despite walking 4 batters. Through 7 innings he scattered 4 hits and the Mets were never able to mount any type of rally against him. The 3 runs against were charged to Cassevah, who came on in relief after Chatwood’s solid outing.
